Davis, Gerald & Cremer employs only high quality lawyers. We seek candidates with a high aptitude for legal work, a traditional work ethic, the confidence to immediately assume responsibility and the desire to become an exceptional lawyer.

Davis, Gerald & Cremer is unique. We are not a big firm. Nonetheless, we handle substantial legal matters for sophisticated corporate clients. These clients trust us because our focused, cost effective, practice management philosophy consistently produces superior results.

All of our lawyers make a significant contribution to our practice from the inception of their employment. We do not hide our young associates in their offices. Our new associates have real client contact, have meaningful interactions with opposing counsel, and, where appropriate, handle hearings and witnesses at trial.

We take the time to train our associates to do their job. Our experienced lawyers nurture our associates and remain accessible to them. We also obtain outside help in the form of legal writing seminars, NITA trial training, and other programs to enhance practice-development skills.

We hire our associates with the expectation that they will become shareholders. The firm model is not based on "leveraging" associates. We expect all of our lawyers — shareholders and associates — to pull their weight.

We also put great value on the quality of life of our lawyers. Our firm model, compensation philosophy, and size are all aimed at reducing the negative impact of politics that most firms have experienced. We strive to manage the firm by shareholder consensus and merit. A lawyer in our firm can expect a five to ten minute commute to work and will have the flexibility of being accessible to his or her family on short notice.

Because of the sophisticated nature of our practice and the high demands of our clients, we hire lawyers with excellent academic records. Our associate salaries are very competitive and our benefits package is generally superior. For example, we provide a 401k plan with dollar-to-dollar matching to the statutory maximum, as well as profit sharing. We provide comprehensive health insurance with no additional charge for spouse and children, life insurance stipend, disability insurance, paid maternity leave, parking, and associate bonuses based on merit and productivity. We also pay all CLE costs, bar dues, occupation taxes and such similar expenses.

Davis, Gerald & Cremer principally hires from its clerkship class. We historically recruit both first and second year law students. We plan an aggressive clerkship program each summer with the goal of identifying candidates for permanent employment.

We plan to conduct on-campus interviews of 2L students this fall at the University of Texas, Texas Tech  University and Baylor University.  If you attend another university and would like to be considered, please send your resume, transcript and writing sample to us.

Because of the needs of our existing clients, we are seeking a shareholder level trust and estate lawyer. The ideal candidate will have an LLM in taxation; be a CPA; and be board-certified in trust and estates.
